This is great! Definitively felt like a pilot more than a thesis film to be honest. This episode definitively delivered a lot of Exposition on what got Jiro placed in his predicament, however we don't get any insight into June the spirit character or why she's with Jiro. She could have sent him back alone to talk to Akari. The ideas you have for the story written in the contract are really neat as well.
Animation is nice, I'm not a big fan of paper jiggling representation, but it saves time. There's a lot of good character acting in this and I look forward to seeing more demons and yokai.
The big Shoki fella (I assume?) Should speak Japanese if you're going to have subtitles! But I'm sure there may have been some concern about people understanding his accent, but honestly I don't think the subtitles are necessary.
Best of luck!
